Don’t let anyone tell you that the folks North of the Border know nothing about the blues. Or don’t let them say that there is only one real Blues group in our neighbor Canada. The Fabricators are certainly a very real and vital Blues Group from the Great White North. This second recording released in 1999 demonstrates their versatility,
individual and group skills.

Their Versatility is found in their original tracks which show the full spectrum of influences ranging from Delta / Chicago and Texas Blues to the Motor City and Philly sound. Mix this all together and you have an album that begins with a sophisticated shuffle sound and culminates with a funky 60’s jam. In-between you will find a ton of
variation so you listeners will not become bored. In part this variation works around the use of horns played off keyboards with the right vocal front man and backgrounds. All serving to convey a picture of how well rounded this group is.

I have to tell you folks I found multiple tracks for you dancer and dance DJ’s. Although there are more than these two tracks I'm highlighting these only. Tracks 4 (Never In My Life) and Track 8 (Good Advice) are my personal favorites. “Never In My Life” clocks in at 120 BPM and teases you with horns and flashes of a Gospel sound while
backing the entire piece with a wide ranging boogie piano. All the time it tells a rather entertaining story. “Good Advise” offers the story of just that topic. Beginning with a rather slow 39-second introduction it kicks in with a strong shuffle beat paired with horns and background vocals that just plain ole rock.

On the “Give It To Mikey, He’ll Play It, Rating Scale” this is nothing less than a standup A. It is one that you will want to add to your collection. Although it may not be easy to find at your local specialty shop you can get it by calling 604-929-6767 or emailing the boyz at tetsoya@netcom.ca you will be glad you did.
